Fox Kwik Change Pop-up Weights

Kwik Change Weights provide the angler with a multitude of balancing and weighting options. Available in four popular, practical sizes to cover a variety of uses, the weights attach securely onto the hooklink and unlike putty or shot will not move or become displaced during the playing of fish, or hard casting.

Supplied in a neat, spill proof dispenser with 2m of rubber tube wound onto the outside, the weights are attached simply by stretching a piece of the rubber tube and placing into the slot. This forms a totally secure fixture that will not damage the line. Once located the weight can be moved by moistening the line and gently sliding. To remove the weight simply insert a lip close baiting needle into the tube and pull free.

Kwik Change Weights are low profile, streamlined and will blend in with just about any lake bed. Perfect for balancing pop-ups, pinning down the last few feet of mainline as an alternative to leadcore and for keeping hook links tight to the bottom out of the carp’s way.

Korda Sinkers Tungsten Hooklink Weights

A compact hooklength weight, made from heavy tungsten, designed to slide onto your hook link and ultimately pin it to the lake bed to keep your hooklength out of the carp’s way. Simply place your hook link material through one of the Sinker sections and slide the weight on. Moistening the hooklength will allow it to slide much easier. The great thing about a Sinker is that it stays in position rather than flying off on the cast like putty may. Available in Safezone colours to camouflage into the lake bed and two separate sizes.

Fox Captive Backleads

Anchor Satellite Flying Back Leads

The ‘Satellite’ Flying Backleads have been designed to achieve what most other flying back leads don’t and that is to actually FLY back up the line a suitable distance to conceal the line adequately.

The rubber parabolic washer on the front can be interchanged between two different sizes to allow the angler to choose how far back the line will be pinned down. The smaller for long distance and the larger for short / medium range. The tubular insert has a large enough diameter to pass over any leader knots etc. and the parabolic washers have been made form rubber so that if the satellites become snagged the washer will deform to release.

The weight is approximately 10g that we found heavy enough to pin a slack line down but also light enough not to hamper casting potential.

In testing we noticed that flying back leads give an advantage when casting with a cross wind; the line does not get blown as far across due to the extra weight on the line.

The weights have been slotted so that they can be removed quickly if required.

Korda Big Grippa Lead

You can basically utilise these leads anywhere that you need more grip, like rivers, on the sides of bars, marginal slopes or boating out at extreme range. We have recorded that you can get the same grip with a 1oz Grippa as you can with a 2oz Swivel Pear Lead.
So with that in mind you can get away with a smaller lead to do the same job which is an advantage when fishing for barbel and chub on the rivers. Also a lighter lead makes a smaller splash so we like using them for casting to gently sloping island margins where a round lead can roll down. The Grippas have become massively popular on the continent where carping in wide fast flowing rivers is the norm and where you have to boat out baits massive distances.

Korda Distance Casting

As the name suggests this lead is designed purely for casting long distances, the nose heavy design makes it very stable indeed and also keeps the lead condensed giving good hooking efficiency. The lead is the brainchild of Alan Partridge an 'Old School' angler well known in the higher echelons of carp fishing for his innovative thinking and his long range casting. He had ridiculed Danny for years saying 'my leads cast further than yours' so one day Danny bit and said 'go on then, prove it'. So the two of them went over to a local big pit and Danny cast as far as he could with his original slender and pointed Distance Casting lead, the slack was taken out and an elastic band was fitted tightly around the line before the lead was wound in. Danny's lead was taken off the lead clip and Alan's was put on, Danny again gave it the big un and pulled the elastic band straight off the spool plus about 30 yards of line!

To add insult to injury Alan allowed Danny to put his style of lead back on and see if he could hit the elastic, try as he might Danny could not match the distance, so he had to use Alan's design which has remained the same to this day! This is without Danny's favourite style of lead, he says 'I love fishing at range in open water and building up a baited area fishing all 3 rods only feet apart, the nose heavy shape of this lead means it flies straight as an arrow, it just goes where you want it to go. For this type of fishing I couldn't think of using anything else!'

Korda Flat Pear Swivel Lead

The classic pear lead will cast a very very long way, almost as far as the Distance Casting and it is less affected by cross winds because the shape is very condensed. This means that the Pear lead is suited to most carp fishing situations when fishing anything up to the very limit of your casting ability.
The dumpy shape can be used to your advantage in silt. Try using a very light pear lead say 1oz or 2oz and actually let the lead plug into the silt, this will dramatically increase the resistance to a moving carp so what feels like a light lead in your hand is transformed into a heavy lead in the fishing situation.
Because the lead has a large rounded end it makes 'feeling' the lead hit the bottom easier than more slender or pointed shapes. If you are new to this technique this lead will make the job easier.
If you don't know what we are talking about check out the carp mags they are always showing you to do it! We rely on it so heavily we couldn't leave the rig our there without 'feeling' the lead down to the bottom.
The pear lead is also ideal in a solid PVA bag because it can be pushed down into one of the corners. This makes the bag nose heavy and so more accurate.

Korda Flatliner Distance Inline Lead

This lead was based on a sea fishing design, which was used to hold the bottom over wrecks far out at sea. The four flat sides ensured that the lead always fell on one flat side and rarely rolled over. The nose heavy theme has been continued here so this lead will cast a very long way for an inline. During the first ever field testing Danny Fairbrass and Danny Turtle had over 90 carp in 4 nights on a big Dutch water - over half of those were over 20lb.
Danny recalls 'the first night we both had a couple of twenties each but felt we should be doing better, a change over to a stiff link coupled with the prototype Flatliner Distance produced immediate takes for me, mainly because I felt the carp there had been hammered on soft hook links. So, moving over to a short stiff hook link with a heavy inline lead (the first prototypes were only in 4oz) made the rig act totally differently than what the carp were used to.
I caught loads more than Turtle because he had some mental block over the stiff rig, even though I was catching so many on it. Being in the last swim before the out of bounds may have had something to do with it, good angling, I say, I drove so I got the pick of the spots!
You can see from the photo, fish a Flatliner Distance on a hard bottom like gravel sand or clay and the shape will actually hold the loop of a stiff rig off the bottom allowing a very free pivot point for the hook link. So, if the bottom is clean and hard and you are fishing with boilies (stiff rigs don't work with small baits like particles, they restrict the movement of a small bait too much) then try that combination.

Korda Flatliner Pear Lead

Again hard bottoms are the place for these designs; the short condensed shape of this lead coupled with the two flat sides makes it the perfect lead for bolt rigs at short to medium range.
By its very nature the flat pear lead lends itself to being fished on marginal slopes, the sides or back or gravel bars and in rivers. But, in fact it is open of the most effective shapes at short to medium range because it holds so well on the lake bed and offers so much resistance to a moving carp.
We have also seen that this type of lead is by far the most like a stone on the lake bed and during the Filming of Parts 1, 3 and 4 this lead blended in better than any other.
Popular misconception 'Flat leads sit on silt'. This does not happen, any lead finds its easiest path through the water so instead of fluttering down to the lake bed, a nose heavy flat lead like this will plummet down side on and nose first.
Making it probably less effective in the silt than say a Swivel Pear lead, having said that it is devastating on gravel and is Danny's first choice in these close range hard-bottomed situations.
Danny noted when filming part 3 of the Underwater Videos 'I tried a Flatliner Pear on the steep gravel slope to see if it really did hook the carp quicker than a swivel lead of the same shape and to my amazement it really did! I had been testing the lead clips for so long I had ignored the inline lead - not any more!'

Korda Shockleader Sleeves

Like all our products, the Shockleader Sleeve puts fish safety as top priority. Korda have designed this sleeve to make your inline rig as anti-tangle and fish friendly as possible when using shockleaders. If the line breaks, the lead pulls free and slides down the line easily passing over the leader knot. Once the lead is off fish find it easier to get rid of the hook.

Korda Hybrid Lead Clip

The Hybrid Lead Clips have finally arrived after an extensive three-year testing and development period. This was necessary in order to ensure the clips performed at peak performance in terms of both fish safety and rig efficiency; an objective we feel we have achieved in full!
The Hybrid lead clip design features an integrally moulded Ring Swivel ensuring that the swivel simply cannot pull free from its housing. This forces lead ejection in the event of it becoming jammed ensuring that carp can be landed easily in weedy, snaggy conditions. Korda Lead Clip Action Pack

Being brutally honest there is a lot of rubbish written about how to use a lead clip properly. The essence of the system is that it will allow a snagged lead to pull off the rig, thus releasing the fish from the unseen snag or weed bed so you land it rather than lose it.
If you were attached to a really big carp, would you forfeit the lead to guarantee you landed the carp? We know we would and it's a small price to pay. All Korda packaging is overflowing with information on how to use the products effectively. This booklet expands and reinforces that information.
The basic rule of the lead clip system is the lead must eject before the swivel pulls out. If the swivel comes out first the lead will never eject. Instead, the line will pull back and forth through the system like a running rig leaving the lead snagged and the fish too!
In our opinion, the lead clip system is the best way to ensure a fish is not left with a lead because the line does not have to pull through anything for the lead to discharge. Use the system correctly and the lead will eject when you want it to!
One thing that’s for certain is that when the lead comes off the carp rises to the surface, allowing you to lead it over any underwater obstacles rather than having to drag it through them. This is the most versatile system when it comes to presenting a bait on any lake bed and as such should be chosen as your number one system. Simply follow the steps to make it safe and effective.

Fox Explorer Feature Finding Leads

These specialist leads have been purposely designed to transmit as much information as possible about the topography of a swim when feature finding. The four fingers will help the lead 'feel' the bottom more precisely when 'casting around' feature finding, looking for gravel patches, plateaus or bars. Each pack contains one standard Explorer lead and one with a rigid wire stem. This is useful when feature finding over weedy or silty bottoms or when you are experiencing difficulty in getting your marker float to rise to the surface.
